Fawn is a former McKeesport City Councilwoman (8 years on council). She has been a consistent community organizer and volunteer for over 15 years in McKeesport & Allegheny County with groups such as Operation Save Our Youth; former member Diversity Committee McKeesport Area School District; Community Reader for McKeesport Areas School District ; Writer Teen Zone TV; Semper Fidelis Club; Speaker CISP Family Night ; Council Volunteer Festival of Trees/International Village; McKeesport Recreation Board; McKeesport Business District Authority and former council board representative for Carnegie Library of McKeesport. After talking with residents through the valley she co-founded Take Action Mon Valley (TAMV) in 2014. TAMV is a community organization that combats community violence through activism and organizing. Fawn also made history in 2016 when she became the first Black person as well as woman to run for the State House of Representatives (PA) seat in the Mon Valley area. She has ran other political campaigns such as the historic election for Mayor City of Duquesne, where the first black woman was elected.
In addition, she has 17 years’ experience working with children & families in non-profit/human services management. Holding various positions such as a Senior Clinician/Therapist and Supervisor/Manager for agencies such as Allegheny Children’s Initiative, Family Resources, Adelphoi Village and Touching Families Incorporated.
